Job Description:
JOB DESCRIPTION Summary The Accounting Manager is responsible
for all areas related to financial reporting. This position will be
responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles,
practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial
statements. This position is also responsible for managing the
accounting team to ensure that work is properly allocated and
completed in a timely and accurate manner. This position addresses
tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including
general ledger preparation, financial reporting, year-end audit
preparation and the support of budget and forecast activities.

1. Maintains workflows by studying methods; implementing cost
reductions; and developing reporting procedures and policies. 2.
Manage day-to-day accounting operations and ensure that there is a
backup process in place for every critical operation. 3. Process
the month-end and quarter-end cycle accounting cycle. 4. Develop
the monthly financial statements and quarterly call-report and
prepare an analytical report for the executive team and board
members. 5. Review and maintain all vendor contract due diligence.
6. Prepare and file all State and Federal reports. 7. Prepare
reports for the annual Membership and Organization meetings. 8.
Accurately complete the monthly depreciation and amortization of
pre-paid assets. 9. Prepare, produce and analyze the
Asset-Liability Management reports. Support the chair-person at the
quarterly meeting. 10. Support the management of the investment
portfolio. 11. Support in the development and implementation of the
credit unions and branch budget 12. Support the administration of
credit union’s corporate checking account. 13. Key contact person
for all examinations and audits. Responsible for maintaining credit
union audit logs and conducting yearly cash audits. 14. Oversee the
completion of the credit union’s 990 tax filing. 15. Oversee the
annual completion of the account escheats for the state. 16.
Demonstrate a professional, business-like appearance. 17. Perform
other duties as required for the efficient operation of the credit

Leadership BSA Requirements This job requires an understanding of
and compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act, OFAC, the USA PATRIOT
Act, and related 1DCU policies and procedures, including the
reporting of suspicious activity, including insider abuse, as
directed. The role includes the management and support of
subordinate team members’ responsibilities in these areas.
Supervisory Responsibility This position is responsible for the
direct supervision of the staff in the Accounting and Payroll
Departments. Work Environment This job operates in a clerical
office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment
such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax
machines. Physical Demands This is largely a sedentary role;
however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to
lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position.
Hours worked may exceed 40 hours per week. Occasional evening and
weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Travel This
position may require occasional travel, up to 25%. Required
Education, Experience, & Skills 1. Bachelor’s degree preferred. 2.
Accredited ACH Professional (AAP) preferred. 3. Credit
Union/Financial Institutions preferred. 4. 5 plus years of
associated work experience. Strong verbal, written, and analytical
skills. Advance experience with Microsoft Office especially Excel.
Advance experience in using Finance/Accounting/Payroll software.
