BLS Must-Have: 2 years behavioral health experience Description: A
Registered Nurse is responsible and accountable for performing the
nursing process as a basis for patient care. Registered Nurses
provide direction and oversight to other licensed and non-licensed
staff. RNs show compassion to recipients of services, coworkers,
and surrounding communities through integrity, stewardship,
empowerment, the promotion of diversity, and professional
excellence. The Registered Nurse must demonstrate excellent
customer service and have enthusiasm for the program and
organization. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: Assesses care
needs of individuals served and develops a plan of care in
collaboration with an interdisciplinary team. Continually
reassesses the plan of care according to the care needs of
individuals served. In collaboration with the physician, provides
and coordinates nursing care to individuals and groups. Assists in
the teaching of individuals served and families, and provides
milieu management. Communicates with and educates individuals
served and significant others in discharge and aftercare planning
needs. Provides a safe and secure environment for individuals
served and staff in both individual and group settings. Responsible
for documenting, reporting, and verifying all necessary information
according to established policies and procedures. Monitors and
reports to the physician any potential risks to individuals served
that could lead to adverse outcomes. Creates a customer-friendly
environment by following quality improvement standards, maintaining
professionalism, and initiating and maintaining positive
relationships with departments, coworkers, and external customers.
Provides care in various clinical settings with diverse
populations. Identifies specific needs of individuals served and
implements person-centered, compassionate care. Functions as a
clinical leader, delegating and coordinating staff assignments and
promoting staff development. Responsible for the utilization and
continued review of patient care protocols, standards of practice,
and standards of care. Gives input into processes for improvement.
Utilizes and promotes careful use of resources. May be responsible
for training direct care staff. May be indirectly responsible for
oversight of medication and physical health activities in a
program. May be responsible for scheduling, staffing, and obtaining
pre-authorizations. Responsible for role modeling the mission and
values of the organization, presenting a professional image in
appearance, attitudes, behaviors, time management, and
communication skills. Provides spiritual, emotional, social,
mental, and physical support to patients. In a community
residential setting, required to support and promote a
recovery-focused environment and person-centered approach.
Demonstrates commitment to the Hospital and Residential Services
Model of Care. Responsible for upholding the healing ministry
through relationships that honor integrity, stewardship,
empowerment, the promotion of diversity, equity, inclusion, and
professional excellence. Must maintain annual training and
demonstrate competency in required programmatic training. Performs
other duties or functions as assigned. May function as a charge
