Job Description:
Trinity Health IHA Medical Group is seeking a
Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Surgical Oncologist to join an
established and expanding surgical oncology program. This position
will support surgical oncology services across multiple Trinity
Health Michigan locations in Southeast Michigan , offering a unique
opportunity to develop a high-impact practice while contributing to
regional growth and program development. This is an outstanding
opportunity for a fellowship-trained surgical oncologist who is
motivated by building, collaboration, and expanding access to
advanced oncologic care within a robust multidisciplinary cancer
program. Position Highlights Regional surgical oncology role
supporting multiple Trinity Health Michigan sites Opportunity to
expand surgical oncology access and build a high-volume,
high-impact practice across the region Shared call schedule (1:3)
Multidisciplinary cancer infrastructure including: Medical oncology
Radiation oncology Gastroenterology Interventional radiology
Pathology Oncology navigation and survivorship services
Participation in multidisciplinary tumor boards and coordinated
cancer care planning Access to minimally invasive and
robotic-assisted surgical platforms for appropriate cases

oncologist will join a high-performing team, joining two
hepatobiliary (HPB) surgeons , with strong operative volume and an
established commitment to: Education and surgical training Program
development Clinical research and clinical trial participation This
position offers collaboration in complex oncologic care and
continued growth of HPB and GI oncology services across the region.
Primary Responsibilities Provide comprehensive surgical oncology
care within a multidisciplinary cancer program Manage complex
oncologic surgical cases, including advanced GI and abdominal
malignancies Participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards and
collaborative care planning Support regional program growth,
referral development, and access expansion Contribute to quality
improvement, outcomes tracking, and service line development
Participate in education and research initiatives, including
clinical trials as applicable Clinical Scope The practice is
designed to support a broad surgical oncology case mix. Preferred
experience and/or interest includes: Melanoma and cutaneous
malignancy Soft tissue sarcoma Complex gastrointestinal malignancy
Peritoneal surface disease HPB oncology (preferred but not
required) Gastric and upper GI oncology (based on training and
interest) Final case mix may be tailored based on candidate
expertise and regional needs. Qualifications MD/DO required
Completion of a Complex General Surgical Oncology fellowship
(ACGME-accredited or equivalent), including Society of Surgical
Oncology (SSO) and Canadian Surgical Oncology (CSSO) approved
fellowship programs Board Eligible/Board Certified in General
Surgery Strong commitment to multidisciplinary collaboration and
high-quality patient care Demonstrated interest in program growth
and regional practice development Minimally invasive surgical
experience preferred
