The Therapist will possess a required Masters degree in Sociology, Psychology or related field; Masters Degree in Social Work and two years experience with Juvenile offenders is preferred. Must Possess one of the following; LLMSW MSW LLPC LPC Ability to Work with a Diverse and Multi-cultural Client and Staff Population. RESPONSIBILITIES: The Therapist will ensure that all youth receive through treatment and clinical case work. Develop an assessment for all youth within fourteen (14) days of admission, to be included in the initial service plan; develop related treatment goals throughout the youth's stay, in accordance with established standards, practices and time frames. Monitor and coordinate outside services related to specialized treatment. Provide a minimum of two hours weekly specialized programming, utilizing appropriate treatment models, for each youth identified as needing specific treatment. Coordinate on going communication among families, youth, staff and the State, Court Workers during youth's on going treatment. Participate in case conference process. Monitor, route, and intervene youth's communication with family members, placing workers, etc. (i.e., resident mail, phone calls, contacts). Develop individual reintegration plans for each youth in conjunction with the Team Managers. Coordinated with the school and vocational segments to ensure that youth's work in these areas meet clinical goals. Chair clinical meetings and facilitate effective meetings as required. Act as primary liaison with the Department of Social Services/ Court Workers, especially in dispute resolution. Represent youth at court hearings, case conferences, and family visitation and conduct family therapy sessions as needed. Work with Secretaries and Intake Specialists to ensure that the file information is keep current and meets licensing, contract, C.O.A. and funding source requirements. Coordinate staff training and development in areas of specialized treatment with the Director of Staff Development and the Senior Vice President of the Programs. Monitor the effective implementation of the point level system; assist Team Managers with Clinical issues. Provide training and information to staff teams to increase their effectiveness working with youth. Coordinate and or conduct specialized treatment planning for the unit and ensure that treatment plans and activities are implemented in support of those treatment plans. Conduct therapy for the family of youth in placement. Have contact with each parent while the youth is in the program on a monthly basis. Assure that families are oriented to the program and are included in case planning within the first 30 days. Assure that families are informed of visitation policies, encourage family visitations and supervise or assure that visitations are supervised. Be on call 24 hours a day to be able to respond to various crisis situations as needed which support adequate treatment plans of youth and families. Work with reintegration staff, State and Court workers for youth who do not have adequate home situations. Work with reintegration program to ensure that residents transferring into the programs have all relevant information ready to be transferred with the youth upon request. Ability to meet all paperwork deadlines. Ability to complete all tasks assigned. Coordinate ordering of supplies and assembly of resources necessary to perform assigned duties. Effectively communicate significant information to treatment team members through logging and verbal communication. Monitor youth record keeping relative to post placement planning. Develop skills in the field of social work relative to client needs. Attend all staff meetings. Support treatment team members through suggestions and innovative ideas on a regular basis. Participation in evaluation of treatment team members. Able to participate in agency professional development programs. Submit monthly reports to the Clinical Manager detailing the monthly activities. Work cooperatively with Team Managers and other managers, supervisors, facility and agency employees. Demonstrate flexibility and creativity with activities and scheduling in order to provide residents and families with the best possible treatment. Coordinate the development of the discharge plan with the youth, family, DHS worker, court officials and the Team Manager. This plan may include but is not limited to education, employment, housing, community activities, AA or NA, and other sources of treatment and counseling. Coordinate with the Program Manager, Facility Director, Clinical Manager, Family Worker, all clinical and administration team members and the post discharged service provider to develop youth home visitation documentation, including court orders, home visit approval, etc. Facilitate the execution of the youth discharge plan once it has been developed. Assist community staff in the development of case planning and reintegration services where they are not currently available. Coordinates staff training and development with the Director of Training and the Senior Vice President Northern Region and provides regular training to agency staff. Coordinates with Intake Department in planning for intakes and discharges. Monitors the effective implementation of the point store, group point and level system, and assist Clinical Supervisors in solving clinical problems. Audits group work, family work, individual treatment, and fills in for Clinical Supervisors in their absence. Collaborates with Operations and Educational staff on site in advocacy of clients' basic needs, and treatment and educational needs. Coordinates with Auxiliary/Administrative staff off site as needed and appropriate regarding client, staff, and/or logistical matters. Primary responsibility for site compliance with the agency Management Information System. Other duties as assigned by the Program Manager and or Senior Vice President of Northern Region.
