Job Description - **Shift: **We have openings on our day and night shift -**Hours: **45-50 or more hours as needed to meet obligations and deadlines. Salaried position . As a Director of Supply Chain you are responsible for interfacing with the Executive team to develop and execute the strategic vision for the organization's supply chain and purchasing functions. The Director of Supply Chain will define Supplier Development requirements and maintain list of current suppliers. This person will be responsible for Identifying, planning, and directing the supply chain efforts. The Director of Supply Chain will provide ongoing support to engage suppliers by leading the end-to-end supplier selection and bidding processes across all spend categories. Lead continuous improvement processes in support of corporate wide sourcing strategy. Strives to continuously find ways to reduce costs and improve quality. This will require working directly with operators, P&Ls, functional experts, and regional mills as well as the senior leadership team to drive the strategy and deliver on the total cost out commitments to the business. Job Functions: Influence suppliers manufacturing processes, technology decisions and policies in ways that are mutually beneficial and sustainable for both organizations by leveraging MTG volume. Work with team to renegotiate, renew and/or discontinue supplier contracts. Analyze industry trends and evolving technology to proactively identify supply base issues to minimize risk, protect continuity of supply and exploit emerging opportunities. Evaluate supplier core competencies and competitive positioning using industry cost models. Review and approve a comprehensive list of suppliers for bid processes developed by analyzing the industry to understand trends and competitive positioning in order to ensure system activation of the best possible supply base. Participate in development of a negotiation strategy that delivers against business objectives and achieves sustainable relationships with suppliers. Manage buyer's activities including request for quotations, inventory levels, on-time deliveries, cost reduction projects, expediting, supplier relationship management and MRP system maintenance. Reviews, establishes and implements new and existing operating procedures. Drive understanding and compliance of DFAR and ITAR requirements to suppliers. Manage APEX buyer activities including request for quotations, inventory levels, on-time deliveries, cost reduction projects, daily buyer messages, expediting, supplier relationship management and MRP system maintenance. Manage employees in purchasing including training, performance evaluation, promotion and disciplinary actions, as needed. The Director of Supply Chain shall up hold the requirements of MTG supplier/provider approval procedures, including the risk assessment process and to ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory and government authority requirements and certifications, as currently revised. Drive culture change to instill focus on Lean Enterprise and continuous process improvements throughout the assigned areas. Qualifications: Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Business or Supply Chain Management. Master's Degree in Supply Chain Management, and/or manufacturing engineering or requisite amount of industry experience determined by management preferred. Ten (10) years of experience in Procurement (purchasing/sourcing), Operations experience (in field, in plant), Technical experience (engineering, project management, etc.). Experience sourcing component fabrication, machining & assembly. APICS CPIM Certification, extensive experience with FAR/DFARs & ITAR, and Lean Green Belt certification preferred. Exceptional negotiation expertise. Basic understanding of Finance principles. Exceptional organizational and communication skills. Ability to work well with others in all levels of the organization. Ability to handle multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines. PC proficiency. Experience buying for and working with large multi-business/plant teams. Extensive experience with negotiating terms and conditions (T&Cs), long term agreements (LTA), Pricing. Willingness to challenge the current situation/supplier data base, while meeting the organization's goals and objectives.
