CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS This position is responsible for increasing top line sales and profit by growing key, targeted customers within an assigned territory consisting of approximately 5-6 Menards stores. The position will service and grow existing customers, develop and implement business plans, and develop customer relationships to expand product offerings. The Sales Representative will also be responsible to grow the business through prospecting new customers, presenting sales opportunities, implementing sales/marketing programs, customer brand awareness and training activities, service and merchandising responsibilities, product training and CRM utilization. This Mt Pleasant based Rep territory will support the following areas: Traverse City, Big Rapids, Mt Pleasant, Bay City, and Saginaw. Drive top line sales growth of all Sherwin-Williams Brands by developing business relationships with Pro and DIY end users through Menards Home Center locations Develop and nurture business relationships with new and existing end users Conduct product and program knowledge training with Menards Team Members to increase product and program recognition and awareness Engage in value added business meetings with General Managers / Assistant General Managers at each store visit Prospect qualified leads to increase incremental sales Continually promote and represent all SW brand and product strengths to Menards associates, customers/contractors discerning competitive advantage and competitors weaknesses. Utilize the CRM system to document sales calls and store visits. Sales Rep will also gather and document competitor intelligence information in the CRM. Conduct contractor and store events to promote products and to increase sales. Ensure promotions, pricing & signage is set appropriately in each store. Develop & implement a successful Annual Grow Plan (AGP) for assigned stores in territory that meet or exceed sales & profit goals. Review, interpret and analyze financial reports Schedule & conduct outside sales calls and related direct sales activities (85%) Communicate with each Menards Stores General Manager, Wallcoverings Department Manager, and Pro Sales Team (where applicable) on outside sales call scheduling Target Customers Property Management General Contractors Rehab/Remodelers Commercial/Industrial Accounts Painting Contractors Governmental Accounts/Schools Cultivate leads, qualify prospects, schedule and perform sales calls with customers Effectively implement the Sales Cycle Enter all sales call information into internal sales call reporting application (Salesforce) Conduct formal and informal Product Knowledge training including conducting hands-on demos to increase brand knowledge and awareness to customers Partner with the Regions Senior Sales Rep to perform Training Blitz Events to customers to increase sales Respond to and resolve product/service/inventory issues at the store level for sales customers. Assist store associates with tinting/mixing paint as needed for sales customers. Store service (15%) Monitor in-store inventory levels, maintaining a satisfactory stock for customer needs Service color centers, install and maintain in aisle & cross merchandising P.O.P. Review SW products to ensure they are fully stocked and properly displayed. Replace defected products (dents, labels,etc) Recovery and facing of products by down stocking, stocking shelves and putting up product orders. Misc. Responsibilities P&L review & management. Review consists of expense management and tracking, collateral expenses & T&E. Assist other Sales Reps as needed Attend required conference calls Attend local and non-local trainings as required (i.e. Sales Excellence) Attend National Sales Meeting(s) Complete required paperwork/reports in a timely manner. This includes but is not limited to mileage tracking, expense reporting, etc.. Assist in setting product planograms Manage projects from small to large scope Assist in setting new stores and store re-sets POSITION REQUIREMENTS FORMAL EDUCATION: Required: High school diploma or GED Preferred: Bachelors degree in business related field KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE: Required: Prior experience in sales, customer service, or operations Strong communication, problem solving, time management, and presentation skills Must also be self-motivated and possess the ability to work independently Preferred: Prior sales experience and the ability to interpret financial reports TECHNICAL/SKILL REQUIREMENTS: Required: Computer skills, Excel, Word, Power Point Sherwin-Williams is proud to be an Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer committed to an inclusive and diverse workplace.
