STAFF ACCOUNTANT Full-time, in-office Birmingham, Michigan Rail

heart. THE ROLE As an Accountant at Rail District Ventures, you
will play a critical role in supporting the financial operations
across all RDV-owned companies. This position is responsible for
day-to-day accounting functions while also helping to build
scalable systems and processes that support a fast-growing,
multi-entity organization. You will work closely with leadership to
ensure accuracy, compliance, and clarity across financial
reporting, while maintaining flexibility as the business evolves.
This is a highly detail-oriented role for someone who thrives in a
dynamic environment and takes pride in creating order, efficiency,
and insight through numbers. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES Lead all
Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable activities across the
organization Create, review, and record journal entries in the
general ledger Prepare month-end, quarterly, annual, and ad-hoc
financial reports Perform actual vs. budget variance analysis and
provide insights to leadership Build financial models to support
strategic and operational decision-making Complete bank and credit
card reconciliations with accuracy and timeliness Collect vendor
tax documentation and prepare year-end 1099s Process payroll,
including wages, taxes, benefits, bonuses, and related entries
Support Human Resources functions, including benefits
administration and onboarding Actively identify, develop, and
implement process improvements Collaborate across teams and
contribute to projects beyond core responsibilities to support
company-wide goals REQUIREMENTS Bachelors degree in Accounting,
Finance, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience 35
years of accounting and finance experience Strong working knowledge
of GAAP and FASB standards Ability to calculate intermediate
figures such as percentages, commissions, and discounts Proven
ability to handle confidential information with discretion and
professionalism Highly organized, adaptable, and able to manage
multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
Receptive to feedback and able to incorporate it quickly and
effectively Proficient in QuickBooks Online or comparable
accounting software Proficient in TriNet or similar payroll
platforms Proficient in Google Workspace tools Experience in real
estate, title, or construction accounting preferred but not
